Our Story

Established in 2007, Modish is in the business of delighting women by providing them with fabulous footwear that makes them happy.

This might be because we’re brilliant at hunting down unusual brands and bringing them back to the UK (our owner Sarah reckons this is helped by stints working in Rome and Madrid many moons ago).

But it’s also partly down to the fact that her feet are a sample size 4, which means all Modish shoes get to be roadtested as she can try before she buys.

Only the best pass muster and make it back to the shelves at Modish.

And we must be doing something right as within a year The Guardian newspaper awarded Modish a coveted place in its Shopping Directory as one of the Top 100 shoe shops in the UK - even making it to the Top 3 in East Anglia, followed by numerous local awards since!

We’re getting new deliveries faster than we can put them on the website - so to see the full range you really need to visit us in person! Our Cambridge store is in the centre of the city on Green Street, just round the corner from Sainsbury's. Our Saffron Walden store is also in the centre of this beautiful medieval market town, which is well worth a visit for one of the best collections of indie shops restaurants and cafes in the country. If you can come on a Tuesday or Saturday you’ll also be able to visit the fabulous market.
